May saw the launch of my second novel, Renegade, at my local pub, the White Hart in Whitechapel. It was heart-warming to be surrounded by so many friends and fellow writers. I was introduced by poet and writer, Pippa Gough, and you can see a clip of our conversation here
Questions from the audience ranged from how social class influences the delivery of justice to the tricky matter of how I researched making explosive devices. No, I didn’t look on the internet, but took the more circuitous route of visiting the National Archives at Kew, where there are police records of the prosecution of the ‘Angry Brigade’ including pencilled diagrams of devices ostensibly used.
Brick Lane Bookshop’s wonderful Denise Jones sold my books, which now sit proudly on the shelves of her bookshop.
